The Railway Altrincham
Grade II Listed pub The Railway in Altrincham was built in the mid-19th century and still retains many original features.
It was saved from demolition in 1996 and is now a favourite with locals thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and traditional interior.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat, The Railway offers home-cooked pub food including full Irish breakfasts (it became an Irish bar in 2021) and a selection of toasties, soups and burgers, plus classic dishes like fish and chips and Sunday roasts. Tables can be booked in advance or you can just walk in.
Like all good Irish-themed pubs, it shows all the big matches and sporting fixtures on the screens, and there are regular live music nights.
