The suburban offspring of long-standing city-centre classic El Rincon de Rafa. Rafa’s is a no-nonsense tapas joint that focuses on doing the classics really well. So you will find patatas bravas, giant albondigas, and chorizo in red wine executed with the confidence of someone who has been doing this forever.
Not resting on their laurels, however, they offer a range of daily specials to surprise and delight. The intriguingly titled ‘Ferrero Rocher’ is a goat’s cheese filled, breadcrumbed, black pudding bomb, and our reviewer loved the slow-cooked oxtail in vegetable reduction. There is also a range of Spanish wines and beers on offer.
There is also a breakfast menu that features all the usual suspects along with some Spanish specialities such as scrambled eggs with Serrano ham or chorizo, and Spanish omelette with pork loin and tomato on toast.
