The Keystone
BarHope Street’s new pub The Keystone opened in 2021 in the spot last inhabited by restaurant Bread and Butter. Unlike its predecessor, The Keystone is much more about drinking than eating, though they do serve sharing boards to snack on while you sip your pint.
It’s known for its locally sourced beers and craft ales with breweries including Love Lane, Neptune, Chapter, Carnival and Liverpool Brewing Co all making regular appearances. There’s a lot for beer-lovers to explore here, from lagers and pilsners to wheat beers – all vegan. Non beer-drinkers can get stuck into the ciders and spirits which include the full gin collection from the Turncoat distillery in the Baltic Triangle.
There’s a decent-sized beer garden at the back – book ahead if it’s alfresco weather. Or settle inside where it’s light and airy but unmistakably a pub thanks to mullioned windows and stone-flagged floors.
