Veggie Republic

Vegan

If you’ve ever doubted the versatility of vegan cooking, a trip to Veggie Republic on Cork Street should set you straight. Its extensive menu of small plates spans the globe with sections devoted to Mediterranean, Pan Asian, Pan American, Middle Eastern and Indian food. It’s all entirely vegan including the wines and beers.

Of course there are plenty of dishes within these cultures that are vegan already, without any dairy-free or meat-free substitutions needed. These aside, a couple of dishes caught our eye for their invention: the hoi sin ‘duck’ bao buns and the oyster mushroom cerviche for example.

There is a kids’ menu featuring vegan versions of the usual suspects: pizza, sausage and chips and the like. They also have a private room which you can hire for parties if you’re planning a vegan birthday gathering.

It’s a sign of its popularity that a sister restaurant to Veggie Republic, Planet Vegan Diner, has recently opened on Lark Lane.
