You’ll find Something More Productive tucked away off Withington High Street, next to the post office. A meeting spot for students, families and regulars, it’s got a real community vibe to it. Roscoe, the owner Theo’s dog, is usually found dotting about, making himself comfortable with customers. And while the name suggests productivity, the atmosphere is definitely more sociable than studious.

The menu is exclusively vegetarian but far from basic with ever-changing rotations of soup and sandwiches including a mushroom bành mi.

The outdoor seating makes for a dreamy little suntrap, while the interior is small and filled with charm and charisma. Head to one of their regular jazz nights to get a sense of the no-egos energy that characterises this place.
