Georgian Quarter

A short walk from the hustle and bustle of Liverpool’s city centre streets is the Georgian Quarter, a neighbourhood that dates back to the 1800s. As the name might suggest, many of its streets are adorned with Georgian-style townhouses and buildings – pretty as a picture, each holding its own stories and history.

Originally designed as a residential area for the wealthy, the Georgian Quarter became rundown in the mid 20th century. Nowadays it’s on the up once again with chic bars and restaurants taking up residency on its cobbled streets.

Take Hope Street for example, which won the Academy of Urbanism Award for ‘Best Street’. Here you’ll find brunch spots like Papillion, cool bars and hangouts like Frederiks and pubs untouched by time like The Philharmonic Dining Rooms.
