Brasserie Blanc
Brasserie Blanc at Manchester Airport’s Marriott Hotel is more than just a place to get a quick meal before your flight. With Raymond Blanc’s name attached to the operation you’d expect a certain panache. Whilst Brasserie Blanc is a chain (no-one imagines Raymond himself is in the kitchen whipping up your pistachio souffle) it maintains a quality that many other bistros strive to beat.
The interior is low-key luxe if a little anonymous but it makes a meal seem like a treat. The prices are not exorbitant but the dishes are indulgent. Expect European bistro classics like Mediterranean fish soup, pheasant sausages with truffle mash and mushroom fricassee with herb dumplings.
It’s as good a spot for a bit of international business wheeler-dealing as it is for a meal with the family – kids menus are spot on, a children’s one for the youngsters and a more grown-up half-price, half-portion version for the mini adults.
There is a good wine list too – just one more way Brasserie Blanc turns dining out into a bit of an event. Celebrate decadence and tuck into some sticky toffee pudding.
