Opened in 2019, Henrock is part of Simon Rogan’s family of fine dining restaurants – set within Linthwaite House Hotel in the fells above Windermere. Here you’ll find seasonal ingredients, inspired by flavours and techniques discovered on the team’s travels around the world.
Simon Rogan’s distinctive and inventive cooking style has led to awards, Michelin stars and worldwide acclaim. His three Michelin-starred restaurant, L’Enclume opened in 2002, while Rogan & Co opened in 2008.
All of the restaurants are fed by Our Farm – set in the Cartmel Valley, where the rhythms of the seasons are at their most apparent. At Our Farm, Simon Rogan and his team of chefs select what they grow, when it is harvested and how it is prepared. It sets a benchmark for the calibre of ingredients, while ensuring a truly traceable dining experience in all of the restaurants.
At Henrock, you’ll find a much more internationally inspired menu than that of L’Enclume and Rogan & Co. While it changes with seasons and availability, ingredients like miso, kelp and wasabi make their way onto the table. You might try miso glazed aubergine with furikake and black garlic, or marinated fillet of Loch Duart salmon with Jersey Royal potatoes and yuzu hollandaise.
Main dishes could include white pekin duck with chicory jam or a parmesan-crusted loin of cod served with melted leeks and chorizo.
