Rosso
If it’s a stylish lunch date destination you’re after or some suitably chic eats for dinner à deux, Rosso might be the one, resplendent in clean white suffused with natural light and with plenty of Italian-inspired vegetarian, pescatarian and meat-lover options on the menu.
Italian food doesn’t get much more luxe than here, where the Rosso chefs cook with the seasons using the finest ingredients to create dishes that are overflowing with fresh flavours from the mountains to the sea, from – for example – lobster crostini and duck ham and asparagus starters to mains such as roast loin of venison and hand-shaped ravioli parcels filled with mushroom and truffle mousse. Fish and seafood include high-end offerings such as halibut loin or black truffle-stuffed Dover sole. The pasta is handmade and the pizzas, such as the vegetarian ‘Zucca e Pomodori Secchi’ (roasted squash, sundried tomato pesto, walnuts, rocket) – are stone-baked for extra crispness.
It would be rude to end such a sumptuous spread without a decadent dessert while wine flights add to the razzmatazz, with whites, rosés and reds expertly matched to the Italian food classics on your plate.
