Super Awesome Deluxe
Almost Famous may be no more, but after a crowd-funding operation Super Awesome Deluxe is its new burger iteration, riding the smash burger trend.
The menu is concise with three burgers and a special plus fries and beer. But that’s not a problem when the burgers are good.
You don’t get the creativity expected from the Almost Famous brand but the burgers are maybe more enjoyable in their simplicity. Towering stacks topped with Frazzles may attract cult audiences but they’re not for everyone.
It’s all in the vibe. The burgers still have the star quality that draws folks in and it’s backed up by a club feel with DJs and drum and bass.
One thing that’s a bit less tasty: Almost Famous shut down in financial difficulties without paying its staff. That’s not something everyone can swallow.
Almost Famous has re-opened with new owners who have tried to employ as many former staff members as possible.
