5 January dining deals in Manchester worth making plans around

Before the phenomenon of the January dining deal, this time of year was reserved for staying in and levelling out after the overload of the festive season. If truth be told, for me, it still is.
I go abruptly quiet when the group chat suggests doing a January restaurant deal, at least until I know exactly where they’re planning to go. Because no matter how good a bargain it is, I’m not leaving my cosy house on a midweek night in deepest winter unless I really have to, or the food is exceptionally good.
With that in mind, I’ve picked out five Manchester dining deals I’d consider forgoing my sofa for this January. The ones that offer food I know will give me a warm, life-is-good feeling rather than regret that I changed out of my fluffy socks and joggers.
Then I’ll be straight back to my Tana French boxset and weighted blanket. Let someone else keep the hospitality industry going this month; I’m keeping my local shop going by sending family members out for Freddos and Haribo every night. See you in February when normal life resumes.
My top five January dining deals

January deal: 50% off tapas, Sunday-Friday, booking required.
Some of the city’s most delightful tapas dishes are served in this wine bar above the Kampus main square, and the tucked-away, cosy atmosphere is lovely too. Find it by going up in the elevator next door to Nell’s Pizza.

Manchester City CentreMore detailsMaray Manchester
January deal: 50% off vegetarian and vegan food, Monday-Thursday. Excludes desserts.
Healthy and half-price – head to Maray off Lincoln Square to cross off two January tick-boxes at once. The disco cauliflower is the plate everyone raves about. If you’re a fan of Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern food, you’ll find lots more to love too.

Northern QuarterMore detailsTNQ
January deal: 50% off a la carte menu, Monday-Friday. Booking recommended. Excludes steaks.
Another much-loved NQ spot – this one a longstanding neighbourhood classic that has that proper restaurant feel and food you can’t come close to cooking at home.

Manchester City CentreMore detailsWinsome
January deal: 50% off food, lunchtimes only, Monday-Friday. Booking required.
One of Manchester’s latest additions to the Michelin Guide, Winsome was the hot new opening of 2025. Worth extending your lunch hour for – you won’t want to rush through food of this quality. Also, at least it’ll still be light when you leave.
