Campagna at The Creameries


Campagna’s Southern European country kitchen stands in the belly of what was formerly just The Creameries until February 2022. Chef Mike Thomas has worked with its founder Mary-Ellen McTague since 2019 but McTague has now stepped back and handed Thomas the reins.

The chef has made a “commitment to impeccable seasonal ingredients” and that is reflected in the always-changing, hyper-local, hyper-seasonal menu that you will experience in this refurbed dairy (hence, The Creameries) in the heart of Chorlton.

Menus feature snacks, fresh seasonal salads, homemade pastas and foccacia, and, on Sundays, an Al Forno menu. Olives, focaccia and Tuscan liver crostini grace the starters and snacks part of the menu. With various pasta dishes available in a very Italian style. Seasonal and local ingredients inspire the rotating ragu – think beef shin, wild rabbit or Ligurian-inspired walnut sauce. You can look forward to main dishes including blushing duck breast, mussels or even wood pigeon with buttered summer cabbage & pickled blackcurrants.

Desserts could include traditional tiramisu, hazelnut torte with crème fraîche or a plate of Courtyard Dairy cheese.
