Crowded House
Crowded House in Blackbridge, Bury is for those occasions when you want NQ-style food and drinks but you can’t face a ride on the Metrolink first.
Its cosmopolitan vibe is reflected in its quirky, charming decor and its menu of global fusion food made for sharing (or not if you prefer). Small plates could include salt cod croquettes with aioli, jerk chicken nachos, and pan fried halloumi with honey and black sesame seeds.
The mains are largely meat-centred with a limited number of few vegetarian options (this is Bury, after all). Options could include pan fried calves liver with onion gravy and crushed new potatoes, or char siu roast duck. Lunches are more casual – ciabattas and flat breads with hearty fillings such as lamb souvlaki with leaves and tzatziki.
The cocktail menu is extensive with sections devoted to mojitos, martinis and prosecco. Get a table in their sunspot terrace at the front and you won’t miss Manchester at all.
