Yours
Pan AsianWhen a restaurant’s menu features lobster dynamite, you pretty much know straightaway that it might not be everyone’s cup of chai latte, and Yours, with its special red carpet-style Insta corridor and “dress to impress” reservation confirmation, isn’t going to appeal to style slouches.
Describing itself as “stunning”, “opulent” and “vibrant”, Yours pretty much expects its guests to be the same, so bring your game face and not your chipped nails when you turn up for your 24 carat-covered sushi session. We kid you not. There’s gold in them rolls, and the “crown jewels” option features tempura oysters with Champagne and saffron mayonnaise plus truffle caviar. It’ll also set you back a tasty £55, so if the cost of living crisis hasn’t got you yet, there’s still chance here. Other high-end choices include the hamachi sashimi, made using amberjack fish, a delicacy in Japan, as well as mini Wagyu burgers, not to be overlooked on the list of small plates, plus Ossetra caviar – one of the most prized and expensive types of caviar and second only to Beluga. Wash it all down with a bottle of Dom Pérignon or, if you can’t stretch to that, how about Laurent Perrier Rosé, just tipping you into the three-figure bracket. Putting the Pan Asian label to one side for now, the brunch team got the smashed avo on sourdough, eggs benny and buttermilk pancake stack memo, but then went all out and mustered up Eggs “Yours”: lobster tail, sunblushed tomatoes, wilted baby spinach, poached eggs, brown butter hollandaise and habanero flakes lounging on a toasted muffin. There’s also a roast on Sundays, with a Yours twist: choose from gochujang-glazed beef sirloin with watercress, blackened miso-marinated half chicken miso with charred lemon, sweet teriyaki and lemongrass baked salmon, or roasted pomegranate-marinated aubergine – they all come with a Yorkie, roasties, squash, taro and wasabi mash, agave and ginger roasted carrots, charred greens and plum wine jus.
Completing the picture are light shows and eclectic music, resident DJs and bespoke cocktails, including classics and a choice of sparkling Bellinis, plus “sunny delights” (the likes of peach tea mojitos) and “floralitas” (think elderflower and hibiscus fizz).
