Behind Closed Doors
Described as a ‘debauched cocktail bar’ in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Behind Closed Doors aims to bring ‘sex, rugs & funk ‘n’ soul’ to the people of Manchester.
Hidden inconspicuously below a T-shirt printing company, BCD is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of place. Its only distinction is its bright pink neon sign above a dishevelled-looking door that leads you downstairs to where the magic really happens.
Here you’ll find even more neon signs, risqué vintage imagery, and a space to boogie to your favourite soul and funk tracks. (There’s also a room available for private hire, if you’re looking for a freaky spot to hold your birthday bash).
At the bar choose from signature serve cocktails including The Chocstar Martini; loaded with lashings of whipped cream and chunks of chocolate.
To go with the sleazy-yet-sultry ’70s vibe, each table is equipped with its own phone known as the ‘BCD hotline’. With these, you can dial your fellow party-goers to engage in naughty chat. Be warned, this place is NSFW.
