On Bar
On Bar had some pretty big boots to fill when it opened back in 2015. This three-floor bar on Canal Street was originally Manto, one of the definitive venues of modern-day Manchester. Its open, glass-fronted design was a contrast to the hidden-away gay bars of days gone by – it literally brought gay life into the open with its terrace, balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows.
On Bar has retained its iconic frontage, with sun-spot seating by the canal and three floors of hedonism inside. It’s a lively spot known for delivering all-night parties powered by house music DJs, drag acts and cocktails.
If you want a big, gay-friendly night of dancing and drinking in Manchester, it’s one of your best options.
Open: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
