Ginger’s Comfort Emporium

Ginger’s Comfort Emporium began life as an ice cream van for adults, often spotted at local foodie markets and private events. Now, as well as offering a mobile pop-up service, you can find Ginger’s gelato on the first floor of Afflecks on Oldham Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Decked out in a traditional Italian gelateria style, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium sports a long bar and rich rouge decor. There’s even a massage chair; it’s not just the ice cream that brings the comfort factor.

Visit for sit-in scoops, affogato, shakes, toasted ice cream sandwiches and rotating specials including crazy gelato combinations. Or pick up a 500ml pot to takeaway.

One of their specialties is the French Elvis; French toast topped with salted caramel peanut ice cream, peanut butter, bananas and fresh raspberry sauce. A pudding fit for a king.
