The Post Box Cafe and Shawarma
Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior – the interior is even more unassuming. However, the food is unbelievable. Enormous flavours, friendly service and some of the tastiest Middle Eastern fast food you can find in South Manchester. Quite an accolade.
The kebabs are all made fresh with the meat lovingly marinated and spiced, the breads are as puffy and fluffy as you like and the extras are laid out like a full-on kebab deli.
The shawarma gives the place its name so it needs to be worthy of that honour and yes, both the chicken and lamb are as good as it gets. We recommend getting yours in a samoon – a lovely traditional Iraqi bread, but the naans are very good too.
The fatayer are sensational. Cheesy, more comforting than a pizza but not as heavy, these are definitely something to try if you’re not familiar with them.
They do ok burgers and pizzas too, but why would you bother when everything else is so good?
