Ran by husband and wife team Eric and Florence Moreau, 63 Degrees is a classic chef-proprieteur French restaurant with roots in the refined cuisine of their home city of Paris.
Food is elegant, well-constructed and always looks beautiful. It’s on the pricier side (it just scraped in on our ££ rating rather than £££) but the general consensus is that it’s worth it. Look out for their Tuesday tasting menu and their set lunch menus if you like to get a deal.
The restaurant name comes from the best temperature at which to cook chicken to retain optimal taste and texture. Their signature dish Volaille 63 Degrees changes slightly with the seasons but always centres on their very particular way with poulet.
Typical dishes could include a salad of lobster and celeriac, a beef fillet with red wine and rosemary sauce, and a crème brûlée with cherry.
Wine lovers will find plenty to catch their attention. 63 Degrees has a generous wine cellar, and the largely French wine list is hand-selected and organised by region, with a good range available by the glass as well as the bottle.
