Albert’s Didsbury
Albert’s Didsbury always has a buzz about it. OK, so you won’t get the best food in the world but if you are after a meal that is more about meeting up with friends than molecular gastronomy, Albert’s usually gets it spot on. There’s a menu full of crowd-pleasers, great service and decent cocktails all in pleasant surroundings.
It’s a place to see and be seen as you tuck in to everything from pan seared king scallops with pea and fennel salad to wild mushroom risotto, from slow-braised meatballs with pappardelle to confit duck leg.
There’s always a lively atmosphere and that is the appeal. The food remains in the background. When the sun shines on the terrace, this is one of the busiest sun traps in South Manchester. The Prosecco flows and everyone is having a good time. Private dining is available too – it’s exactly the sort of place that gets booked up with baby showers and birthday parties.
The outdoor seating area is very pleasant – and it’s heated, so you can make the most of the sun’s rays, whether you’re bagging the last outside table during a summer heatwave or gamely enjoying the first alfresco meal of the year.
