Blanchflower Sale
Blanchflower Sale is the second café from these well-regarded purveyors of coffee, brunch and baked goods. It’s a good-looking place with a bit of a Danish feel to the décor.
Everything is baked by the Blanchflower team, from the towering cruffins to the sourdough bread, which is also available to buy. It all looks beautiful – think almond pastries bedecked with tiny edible flowers.
If you can stay away from the sweet treats, brunch is the mainstay of the Blanchflower operation with about as many seasonally changing versions of eggs benedict as there are feathers on a hen. The crab one is a belter.
The menu is largely things with eggs on them or French toast but that doesn’t matter because Blanchflower Sale is very good at what it does. Be prepared to wait for a table – it’s walk-ins only.
