Born Up North
Born Up North is known as bun. Makes sense. This Heswall eatery is a relaxed affair where it’s (almost) all about the burgers.
Stacked, juicy and generous, they’re imaginative but not in an OTT way; the flavour pairings genuinely work. Take the tapas burger: sausage patty, black pud, Manchego cheese, chorizo, egg and padron pepper mayo. Who wouldn’t want to eat that?
The wolf is the traditional burger with a quality steak patty, bacon and cheese. While Confidential favourites include the spicy sloppy joe burger with added chilli con carne, sour cream and hell-fire mayo, and the veggie portobello one with mushroom, goats cheese and onion chutney.
As well as offering the good folk of Wirral supremely stacked burgers, they do chicken tenders and wings, steak, and a Sunday Roast. Look out for midweek deals like All You Can Eat Chicken Thursdays.
Drinks-wise, they knock up some pretty sharp cocktails, such as their strawberry jam daiquiri, made with real whole fruit strawberry jam, spiced Black Magic rum and lime juice. Enjoy one on the terrace if the sun is out.
