Cargo Seafood Restaurant
With some great views overlooking the Mersey from its unrivalled waterfront location on Princes Parade, this is the place to head to catch a glorious sunset with your seafood – you might even see your dinner being unloaded from the boats, so fresh is the produce at Cargo.
Sourced every morning from these shores and beyond, the best fish and seafood you’ll find in Liverpool is promised at Cargo, along with “wine, cocktails, friends and good times”, plus an outside seating area. From the fish choices, think whole grilled sea bass with herb dressing and pan-fried monkfish fillets with a creamy garlic sauce. There’s also classic fish and chips, with mushy peas and tartare sauce. There’s a seafood pasta and a seafood risotto, both with king prawns, calamari and monkfish, and the shellfish detail of the menu also has whole grilled lobster, when available, plus seared scallops and steamed mussels starters. There are also catch of the day and weekly specials, depending on season. Crossing over into meats, there’s a surf’n’turf option of 10oz sirloin with tiger prawns, or you can turn your back on the sea (perhaps even move your chair so you can’t see the glittering river) and just have the steak. The grill will also see non-pescatarians right with succulent lamb chops or chicken skewers.
Be sure to leave space for the selection of homemade desserts and of course a digestif or an espresso martini or two.
