Crazy Wendy’s
During the week Crazy Wendy’s serves up Thai food but on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s som tum plus singing.
This unique restaurant has built up a reputation for its proprietor and namesake’s lively covers of Elvis, Shirley Bassey and more. With dancing, feather boas and sparkles in between the satay, it’s a legendary night out. Wendy is the ultimate prima donna of pad thai.
The atmosphere is the thing that brings in the table bookings rather than the food. However, the dishes, which focus on the North Eastern Thai cuisine of Wendy and Chef Sally’s home region of Mahasarakam, are actually pretty decent.
The Esarn local specialities are the ones to order. Nam tok and also the Esarn sausages are Confidentials’ favourites as well as the papaya salad if you can handle the heat.
The vegan selection is also better than at many of its competitors.
