Harvey Nichols Second Floor Deli Bar
Hutch up near one of the floor-to-ceiling windows in the new Second Floor Deli Bar and take in the views over the adjacent Cathedral and Medieval Quarter while taking a weight off those shopped-out feet and tucking in to some hand-selected nibbles and a well-earned glass or two of fizz.
This is Harvey Nics, so of course there is some fantastic produce from the best suppliers to get your teeth into, and the Second Floor Deli Bar showcases the very best that the delicatessen stocks – think plates and sharing platters of the finest charcuterie cold cuts (including Jamón Ibérico de Bellota), a huge selection of speciality cheeses both British and European, and accompaniments such as fruit jelly and other regional produce or antipasti, including plenty that’s plant based, such as juicy olives, homemade hummus and bright salads. Sandwiches are served toasted on artisan bread with coleslaw and side salad (just ask your server for the day’s choices) and meat-eaters might be tempted by the Companio Bakery sausage roll, nicely complemented with a dash of mustard and balsamic onions. There’s also a spread of fresh speciality breads, pastries and savouries made locally by artisan bakers Companio. Not sure what to go for? The resident team are on hand to offer expert advice and top tips for perfect pairings, including from the edit of fine wines and Champagnes. If you fancy a sweet treat for afters, or just on its own for a quick cake break, the daily-changing delicacies on offer are also by Companio Bakery – see the specials board for more.
Before you leave, don’t forget to check out the delicatessen and wine shop to take away a little of what you just sampled to enjoy in the comfort of your own home – that way, you won’t even need to change out of your onesie.
