OXA
OXA is the casual sister restaurant to the ground-breaking Restaurant 8 in Liverpool but it is by no means the poor relation.
Small but perfectly formed, it’s one of the gems of the North West dining scene and now boasts two AA Rosettes to its name. There is the same emphasis on flavour above all as Restaurant 8, and the same refined simplicity, making the best of quality local produce.
Choose between a stunning seasonal menu with optional wine pairing or a social menu of smaller plates for the whole table to share.
Dishes change regularly but you might find anything from braised ox with beef fat hollandaise and pickled shallot, to maitake mushroom with pickled apple and celeriac.
Chef Andrew Sheridan has recently returned to the North West after an eventful career taking in 3 AA Rosettes and an appearance on Great British Menu where he reached finals week. If OXA and Restaurant 8 are anything to go by, he is going to be one of the leading figures of the region’s food scene.
