Metamorphica is a modern British restaurant based in Rossendale that focuses on quality. It is an independent project run by Chef Steven Halligan who was National Chef of the Year Semi-Finalist in 2021, Greater Manchester Young Chef of the Year in 2016 and North West Young Chef of The Year Runner-up in 2016.
The restaurant offers a chef’s counter dining experience where you can observe your food being prepared in front of you but also features a multi-course tasting menu with dishes that reflect the season. The food is prepared with innovative techniques, and with a focus on using hyper-local, quality ingredients.
The restaurant is self-sufficient, with all work from design to decorating being done in-house by the Chef and his family. Metamorphica is highly invested in education and works closely with local colleges to provide extracurricular education to culinary students in the area,
The menu includes nostalgic dishes from Chef’s career as he aims to source food as responsibly as possible. Due to the limited number of seats, small team and the time invested in creating the dishes, it is unable to cater bespoke menus for people with food allergies and dislikes. However, it hopes to cater for more dietary restrictions as it grows.
