The Church Inn
The Church Inn is a gorgeous country pub with a big reputation. The food and drink lives up to its quaint chocolate box charm and draws in punters from all over Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
There’s a focus on local seasonal produce and the menu isn’t overly fancy but it is good. Expect dishes like crispy lamb and feta croquette with pea puree, or fillet of sea bass with a warm salad of red onion, chorizo and new potatoes. It’s all about quality ingredients cooked well. The Sunday roast is an absolute zinger too.
Drinks-wise, there’s a focus on local ales with everything on draught from within a 15-mile radius apart from one pump offering craft beers from further afield. The wine list is also very good with a particular focus on French wines.
Given the location, The Church Inn is the perfect place for a country walk with a cosy meal to look forward to at the end. In fact, you can pick up walking guides from the bar.
