Palace Barbers at Afflecks
Palace Barbers, or to give it its full title, Palace Barbers Unisex Hairdressing at Afflecks, is much-loved by Mancunians for many reasons. One of them being Steve, the Debbie Harry-obsessed owner who runs the place.
He makes everyone feel at home in his chair, and he’s part of the reason why Palace Barbers is known as one of Manchester’s most welcoming and inclusive places to get your locks chopped.
It’s popular with the LGBTQIA+ community and with neuro-diverse customers. (Steve himself is neurodiverse.) Pricing is gender-neutral, much like the androgynous styles Steve specialises in. Take a look at their Instagram for inspiration.
It’s all sorts of cuts and styling here, and it’s a walk-in, no appointment system. There isn’t really a quiet time, so just rock up whenever, take a seat, and enjoy the wall-to-wall Blondie and the friendly, accepting vibes.
