Buxton Crescent Hotel and Spa
Buxton has long been a spa town but for many years it went without a high-quality spa. Then in 2020, the elegant 18th century Crescent building reopened as a five-star luxury hotel – with a restored Victorian spa pool fed by thermal water from the town’s ancient 27°C spring.
Other highlights include an indoor-outdoor rooftop pool, an extensive thermal suite, a salt cave, and CO2 mineral baths. There’s also a fitness suite, a restaurant, a spa cafe, two bars, and an 18th-century ballroom.
Buxton Crescent Hotel and Spa is also a great choice for grand weddings. Its regency splendour is very Pride and Prejudice – after all Mr Darcy resided in Derbyshire.
The hotel borders the charming Pavilion Gardens, while the town itself sits on the boundary of the Peak District National Park. What’s more, you can get to Buxton by train from Manchester and Liverpool, no car needed.
