Double Zero
An authentic Neapolitan-style pizzeria, Double Zero in Chorlton has been lauded as one of the best in the UK.
The menu is confident simplicity with the pizza taking centre-stage of course. There’s also a tempting bunch of nibbles, like those chunky, green nocellara olives or interestingly topped crostini if you want something more substantial.
It’s the pizza you’re here for though, that black-speckled, bubble-crusted beauty that you have come to know and love, made on site with a blast (90 seconds max) in their Dantean blue and white tiled furnace.
Look out for Italian specialities amongst the toppings, like melting nduja (spicy salami), friarielli (a skinny, spinachy-broccoli for fans of iron-rich green oomph) and scamorza (a smokey Italian cheese, like a stringier mozzarella).
Vegan cheese is an option, and there’s a kid’s pizza and juice meal deal.
The interior is modern and chic with sulphur-yellow leather seating, white tiles and wooden everything else. Sitting outside on a sunny day is sure to leave you feeling all is well with the world.
Double Zero is at the top of its game, and always busy, so booking is advised.
