Kimji Korean Restaurant
KoreanHusband and wife team Sam and Mandy Chen opened the first Kimji Korean Restaurant in Preston in 2018 to a warm welcome from locals. They chose the foodie village of Ramsbottom for their second venture, and although it’s early days, it’s already going strong.
The simple menu features the best known dishes of South Korean cuisine, including noodle soups, Korean barbecue, and bibimbab. Sides or appetisers include kimchi (of course), fried chicken, seaweed rolls, dumplings and tempura.
They emphasise the healthy nature of Korean food with its focus on lean meats and fresh greens. Their traditional ginseng chicken soup with rice, garlic, and red dates reads like a cure for all ills.
The mocha ice cream – soft sweet rice dumplings filled with green tea, vanilla or mango ice cream – may not fit the healthy vibe but it will certainly lift your mood.
For drinks, they offer a small selection of wines, softs and spirits including Korean rice wine soju, available by the bottle or glass.
