NYL Restaurant and Bar
Much of the appeal of NYL Restaurant and Bar is admittedly the setting. You’ll find it in the Aloft hotel in the gorgeous grade 11 listed Royal Assurance Building. With tan leather booths and a sleek Art Deco bar, it’s a glam backdrop for cocktails and G&Ts.
The food doesn’t match the elegance of the decor but it’s decent enough. It’s a largely American menu of burgers, mac and cheese, and pizzas – all easy options for tired and hungry tourists. Sunday dinners and afternoon teas are also available.
If you’re eating there, opt for the brunch menu if you can, as this is where their kitchen shows its best side. They offer a bottomless G&T brunch which sounds like a lot of fun.
