Vice & Virtue

Restaurant - Modern British

At Vice & Virtue, cocktails are a savvy delight, the tasting menus are a sprightly revelation – and it would be a sin not to appreciate both.

While the location is hardly heavenly – squeezed into an odd wedge of a building overlooking the A64 with a colossal student-housing tower blotting out the sun – this unpromising venue is home to some of the most exciting food in Leeds.

Chef-patron Jono Hawthorne trained at Michelin starred Noma and Quay Restaurant in Sydney, before returning to his native Yorkshire. An appearance on MasterChef: The Professionals in 2020 has made him officially ‘one to watch’.

At Vice & Virtue he puts his inventive spirit to work in creating seasonal tasting menus and a Sunday Lunch tasting menu. Optional drinks packages are available with the menus, and there’s an excellent standalone bar which is worth a visit in its own right.
