Oscars Bar
This subterranean bar in the Gay Village has been a beacon for theatre-lovers and touring productions since it opened in 2012. It’s themed around all things stage and screen, with posters for musicals on the walls and a soundtrack of show tunes on the speakers.
Cosy, intimate and friendly, it’s a lovely little hideaway and although the original owners, Kevin Bridges and David Fine, have moved on now, it’s still a Canal Street classic.
It’s got a busy events programme with live cabaret and drag queens, an open mic night and quiz nights. If you’re a fan of musical theatre and love an impromptu singalong with your pint or cocktail, it’s for you.
Open: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
