The Morris

Bars

The Morris is an unassuming name for what is one of the Northern Quarter’s best cocktail bars. Its appearance is a little understated too with none of that boho louche-ness associated with the city’s mixology destinations, nor a throbbing late night destination feel.

It does have benches outside though which is always a plus and a relaxed pubby downstairs bar. The Morris is a place for a pint of Guinness and a bag of crisps as much as it is a martini poured ice cold straight from the freezer.

One simple name, multiple talents. Upstairs the cocktail bar (which doesn’t take bookings unlike many purveyors of liquid fun) has a more sophisticated look with 1970s orange walls, cool lights and carbonated cocktails on tap.

There are cheeky cherry-topped drinks, classics, ice cold serves and, importantly, a range of proper cocktails available in alcohol-free versions. Nice glasses too.

Above the cocktail lounge, the top floor is available to hire for private functions.
