Sugar Junction
With a very vintage vibe, homemade cake and cocktails, and tempting hot and cold plates dished up all day every day in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Sugar Junction is the perfect go-to for ladies who brunch.
Renowned for its afternoon tea, there’s a choice of just shy of 20 blends of loose leaf by the cup or pot, served as a proper teaset, and gourmet coffee is also on the cards. Enjoy with a slice of homemade cake from the not inconsiderable selection (the cake platter will give you a trio to try if you’re struck by indecision) or opt for the cream tea for one, which comes with a freshly baked fruit scone, clotted cream and jam.
Sugar Junction was born from a passion of baking and vintage (if you don’t like a bit of Gracie Fields to accompany your finger food, this probably isn’t the place for you), and that famous afternoon tea is served on fine bone china tiered stands and includes homemade mini open muffin sandwiches, scones, and a spread of four house cakes and sweet treats. There’s a non-booze version, a Prosecco version and a “vintage cocktail” version.
Breakfast, meanwhile, is served from first thing and brunch and lunch dishes are available throughout the day, with the wholesome soup changing daily, bagels such as scrambled egg and chives, pancakes with the likes of chorizo and halloumi, and signature Tib Street veggie hash, topped with a fried free-range egg.
