That’s Thai
That’s Thai is a teeny hole-in-the-wall cafe next to a garage in Cheetham Hill. While it only has a small number of covers – plastic stools along the wall and some outdoor seating in the summer – it has enough fans and loyal customers to fill them all many times over. This place serves some of the best Thai food you’ll find anywhere in Manchester.
The menu is full of authentic dishes like Thai fried rice and massaman curry. Confidential Guides loves the tempura prawns and the pork phad ka prow, a popular street food choice.
However, going off-menu is even more interesting. Keep an eye out for the staff food and the specials. When somewhere without the big budgets of a mega-chain puts lobster and seafood boil on its specials board, you know you’re in for a proper Thai feast, honest and authentic.
It’s only a few minutes’ walk from Victoria or AO Arena, so if you’re looking for a great value lunch (in the sun if it’s warm enough) or a meal before a gig, this is the place to go for the biggest flavours.
