Wang’s Dumplings
Wang’s Dumplings is a tiny place with a big reputation on TikTok and a reputation for some of the best dumplings and wontons in the city. It’s also an absolute bargain.
You know a place is authentic when you can’t read the menu. Fortunately, it’s available in English. You don’t need to spend much time browsing though because it’s basically dumplings, wontons and sides. When they’re this good, who needs choice?
Portions are generous; for £15 you can feast on 18 dumplings plus a pork pancake. The wonton noodle soup and the dumpling noodle soup are just a tenner each with the bone broth made fresh each day and packed with ten little parcels of glory bobbing around in there.
Confidentials loves the fried beef dumplings with the hot and sour dip and the pork wonton noodle soup, hot and sour again of course.
If you love it as much as we do, take a freezer bag and stock up with supplies to cook at home. But whatever you do, don’t tell anyone about this place. Covers are as limited as a fancy fine-dining Chef’s Table, only more so. Be prepared to get a takeaway rather than a table because securing a spot here takes luck and timing.
