Albert’s Shed
Albert’s Shed is the flagship of the family-run restaurant group best known for also owning nearby Dukes 92. The site was once Uncle Albert’s actual tool shed before its transformation into a glass-fronted modern restaurant with a large south-facing terrace overlooking the canal.
The menu is broad, covering modern British cooking alongside pizzas, steaks and Mediterranean-leaning mains, with options from scallops to chicken Wellington. There’s a good-value set menu at lunchtime and early evening, plus dedicated menus for children and large parties.
Next door, The Castlefield Rooms provides private spaces for weddings, corporate events and celebrations, accommodating up to 250 guests. Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere is relaxed but polished, with plenty of natural light and views over the water. It’s a place that draws a steady mix of diners, from business lunches to weekend family gatherings, helped along by its prime location.
