Cocoa Cabana West Didsbury

Restaurant - British

Having made a name – and a following – for itself, Burton Road’s chic chocolatiers has expanded into larger premises up the street (as well as gaining a branch in town), incorporating a sit-down-and-sup tearoom alongside the takeaway coffee and cake counter.

The chocolate parlour and cafe – the brainchild of award-winning entrepreneur Sarah Gallacher – churns out gooey chocolate brownies worth making a detour for as well as tempting truffles of all types, from classic (and popular) salted caramel to more unusual limited editions, including green tea margarita and even a Manchester tart version. As well as sweet treats to eat and all kinds of luxurious hot chocolate flavours to drink (white with tonka bean, for example, or the latest craze for Biscoff), light lunch is served – but it’s the “famous” chocolate afternoon teas most people book tables for. Above a tier of proper finger sandwiches (smoked salmon and cream cheese, cheese and pickle, ham and mustard…), you’ll find those brownies alongside big, bright macarons and scones ready to dollop with warm homemade salted caramel and chocolate sauces.

There’s unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate to wash it all down, and you can add a glass of fizz for a little extra or plump for Bottomless Afternoon Tea, with 90 minutes of Prosecco, Aperol Spritz, Taste of Seville, Mimosa or Bellini quaffing.
