Inspire Cafe
Inspire Cafe is an inclusive, relaxed gem of a community cafe housed in a former church in Levenshulme. It serves breakfasts, light lunches, and homemade cake during the day, with occasional pop-ups from local street food traders (with local beers) in the evening.
Go for freshly-made soups, sandwiches and daily specials, all at very fair prices. Think tomato, red pepper and Wensleydale soup, or smoked pork and butternut goulash.
Inspire is also a multi-purpose community hub with a, well, inspiring calendar of events. There might be free ESOL classes from Heart and Parcel, theatre from the Levenshulme players, kundalini yoga, dancercise for OAPs, a drop-in advice service for the homeless, a free repair cafe, children’s taekwondo, or a regular, pay-as-you-feel, community dinner made by volunteers, with live music from local artists. World whistling champions have been known to perform, yes really.
