Dimitri’s
Dimitri’s has been serving up mezze for over 30 years now. It’s a stalwart of the city’s food and drink scene and with its vibrant atmosphere and happy holiday food, it will probably keep going for 30 more.
It’s sharing food that will bring back memories of trips to Crete or Kefalonia with hummus and generous baskets of pitta breads, juicy olives, stuffed vine leaves, moussaka, herby lamb chops and kebabs all featuring on a typical menu. The focus is on Greek specialities like spanakopita or keftedes but you’ll also find Moorish influences and Spanish dishes on the menu.
There’s often live music on too but the real holiday mood comes from the terrace in the arcade. With twinkling little lights, it must be one of Deansgate’s most romantic settings and the heaters mean you can enjoy a taste of the Med alfresco from spring through to autumn.
