Owens Restaurant & Bar
Owens Restaurant & Bar is a popular place in Ramsbottom, just opposite the train station and handy for a family day out on the old steam engines. The food is hearty, northern and British and the Sunday breakfast specials are quite a thing – Yorkshire puddings with sausage bacon and egg.
The sturdy meat plate pies, the braised lamb shank, and the Cumberland sausage and mash with bonus black pudding (this is Bury, after all) are good honest pub grub – satisfying and tasty. It’s food like this that keeps Owens so busy.
It’s dog friendly and with robust, uncomplicated food plus regularly changing real ales from local breweries, it’s a good place to indulge after a walk up to Peel Tower.
