The Ivy Liverpool Brasserie

Restaurant - British

The Ivy is an exuberant over-the-top place that’s perfect for glamming up and going out. As such, it couldn’t have found a better city to call home than Liverpool. The now nationwide restaurant chain opened its newest venue on Castle Street in winter 2024, just in time to ride the Christmas socialising surge. And while The Ivy Liverpool’s champagne and chandelier style won’t appeal to everyone, it’s certainly an experience.

The décor is wild yet smart and service is smooth and professional. There’s an abundance about The Ivy Liverpool with the costumed doorman, the lurid floors, the lacquered screens, the mirrored central bar. It all adds up to a sense of occasion, a place where dining out is something special, something to dress up for.

It’s the sort of place where cocktails and desserts are the stars of the show – as visually appealing as the setting. Brasserie main courses are restaurant classics with a few Asian elements thrown in. Expect dishes such as white onion soup or duck liver parfait to start and then follow it up with something like chicken Milanese, fish and chips or monkfish and prawn curry. The choice for vegetarians and vegans is surprisingly good with a separate menu available.
