TYGA
TYGA continues Asha’s legacy of gussied-up Indian dining. Yes, there’s plenty of bling but it’s the food that merits your attention.
Avoid the glitz on the menu – the Lobster Majestic is just for footballers to splash the cash – and you’ll eat better for it.
It’s not an authentic rice ‘n’ three sort of place. The menu mixes elevated versions of traditional favourites and other dishes with more global influences but the spicing is careful and it doesn’t result in a mish-mash of flavours.
Confidential Guides loves the royal smoked baingan bhartha. The names are silly and over the top but it’s the fanciest aubergine you’ll ever see in an Indian restaurant. The rich smokiness means it’s not just style over substance.
Elsewhere on the menu, the imperial lamb flamed chops are really lifted by chimichurri and fresh herbs.
TYGA is a welcome addition to Peter Street even if it doesn’t offer anything new. However, it’s quickly building a reputation for quality Indian food winning a place in the Asian Catering Federation’s Top Asian Restaurants in the UK 2026 just months after opening.
