Rookery Hall
Rookery Hall is the luxurious country house hotel where the Beckhams got engaged, and it’s not lost any of its glamour in the years since.
It was awarded AA Best UK Spa in 2023 and it looks like something out of a Merchant Ivory period drama with its sweeping driveway, perfect lawns and Georgian architectural grandeur.
The spa has five bubbles – top marks – from The Good Spa Guide for facilities including a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, steam rooms, sauna, relaxation room and seven treatment rooms for massages and facials.
Rookery Hall also has a good reputation for food with 2 AA Rosettes. Typical dishes could include Scottish langoustine with Jerusalem artichoke and seafood emulsion, or roasted mushroom and truffle-stuffed guinea fowl. A full plant-based menu makes fine-dining feasible for vegans too.
