Crew42

This gym on an industrial estate near Princes Dock doesn’t look like much from the outside but there’s a lot of good stuff happening in here. Crew42 is the only Hyrox-affiliated gym in Liverpool city centre, and it won a national award thanks to one of its signature classes. 

Fitness Bingo – aimed at menopausal women – was crowned Best Fitness Event at the British Fitness Awards in 2023. This hour-long weekly session lets you work out at your own pace so it’s perfect if you’re new to fitness classes. With games, prizes and a soundtrack of mood-boosting cheesy music, it’s a good laugh as well as a good workout.

Crew42 also offers a run club, Hyrox training classes, strength and conditioning classes, and a 42-day body transformation programme. You can also use the open gym sessions for self-led training. The gym prides itself on being friendly and unintimidating – there’s no unnecessary mirrors and no judgement here.
