Ingleton Swimming Pool
Ingleton Swimming Pool was opened in 1934 and it’s always had a community feel. Originally, the pool was dug out by local miners who were on strike, and today it is still run by volunteers.
The 20m heated outdoor pool is a lovely way to cool down in the summer months. Comfort seekers will be glad to know it isn’t as bracing as many open-air swimming spots at an enjoyable 26.6⁰c.
There is a picnic area with barbecue facilities and a small cafe but no car parking – the nearest spaces are at the village community centre.
Ingleton is in North Yorkshire but you can be at the pool in not much more than an hour and a half from Manchester or Liverpool. There are plenty of other attractions around such as Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, White Scar Cave and Ingleborough Cave if you’re planning to make a longer trip.
