Tooth and Talon
Independent tattoo parlour Tooth and Talon opened in Ancoats in 2017. With eight resident artists and regular guests working across all styles apart from realism and script, you’ll be in good company if you prefer traditional (or modern) blackwork tattoos with crisp, sharp lines and brutal designs.
The website jests they will “cause you intense pain and discomfort in the name of art and the pursuit of beauty”. But they’re big softies at heart, especially when it comes to all things animal-related. They have their own range of merchandise, including T-shirts, prints, beanies and tote bags, most of which feature cats.
They operate as a private studio on an appointment-only basis due to their popularity, but occasionally have some space available on the day for smaller pieces. Call up and ask to find out.
Find them on Jersey Street and – just look out for their traditional sign board overhead. Regardless of how wacky your ideas are, Tooth and Talon will bring them to life in the form of cutting-edge body art.
